I finally got to finish this illustration. It is actually in colour, however I scanned it in black and white as the scan quality wasn't that great! I'll scan the version in colour in due course.

My first illustration of 2012 is an interpretation of a photograph by Eric Frideen from ES Magazine, starring Jaime Winstone. Note: the model is not supposed to look like Jaime! I just liked the look of the photo and the colours used. Also, I just love illustrating hair and so decided to make her hair a little bit more larger than life. I've entitled it 'Ooh La La' just like the article.

The finished article will be up in a couple of days. Hope you like it so far!

More doodles for today! The first illustrations are a continuation from yesterday - with a bit of colour, and the last illustrations are inspired by a photo shoot from a magazine with brightly coloured clothing. I tried to bring the colours through in this illustration.

Only a couple of days left of the year and I'm already in 2012 mode.

For me, the fact that we will be going into a New Year is just a matter of digits. If you really think about it - nothing is really new except the date on the calender! I'm all for being a thinker / planner / goal setter - and this is the resolve which should be taken into 2012.

Whilst on my Christmas holidays I have decided to upload a couple of 'doodles'. I'm such a perfectionist - willing to delay uploading new material onto my blog until the artwork is a 'masterpiece', however I've been wanting to regularly update my blog for a while now and so you will be treated to a few recent 'doodle's' of mine along with the great masterpieces too!

Happy 1st of March! I thought I would share this illustration which is still in progress. There are more details and more colour to be added of course, but I will post the progress of this work up soon.

I can't believe it's March already, how time has flown by! I promised myself that I would keep this blog updated more frequently and I'll be sticking to that promise so watch this space :-)

Unfortunately the idea was not chosen, however I am quite interested to see how it would look with a bit of colour!

Hey guys!

I'm sorry again for the lack of posts! I've been prodded and pocked by nearly everyone requesting that I get some new material up.

I'm not one to upload just any old artwork onto my blog. My art is an expression and progression of myself, and so you'll only ever see the best art work which I think reflects who I am at the time.

I promise new artwork will be up soon, until then I have uploaded the above piece which was drawn a while ago. I just think the dogs are so cute!

Sorry for the lack of material! I watched this movie a very long time ago and thought the story along with the images was so fantastic. So I decided to draw Chihiro, the main character seen here in her adventure outfit. Can you believe this was drawn in 2005?

I named this image 'Black Bottechelli' at the time (2005). I didn't know how the illustration would turn out, but I was quite pleased with it and was planning to colour it in at the time, but that never happened. Drawn with biro!

This was drawn aaaages ago. It reminds me of having loads of time to spare and drawing for days on end, sigh! I would love to share some more older illustrations here in another post - there are just so many!

Features in 'Ballad Of' and 'Gala Darling'

My exhibition has been featured in edgy and retro publication 'Ballad Of'' magazine. One of my illustrations has also been featured in 'Gala Darling'. Gala Darling, a New Zealander living in New York City is the fashion curator for ChinaShop, advice columnist for Filament magazine and recurrent speaker at SXSWi.

Lulu and Iris Exhibition Event

November 2009 saw the launch of illustrator Louise Andersone's long awaited art exhibition where hundreds of members of the general public were invited to see the fantastic artwork on show whilst tickling their taste buds with delicious indian cuisine.

Set in the prestigious Tiffinbites in Bank, the exhibition proved to be a huge success with those who attended, which included the specially invited press from 'Ballad Of...' magazine, a scout from Sony BMG and press from 'The Afronews'.

The guests were also entertained by the fresh urban talent on show which included singer and song writer Sloozie who performed her hits 'Lovely Day' and 'Follow Me'. Sloozie, who recently entered a BBC performance competition, is well known for her original lyrics and various self directed videos on MySpace and Youtube.

Sassy singer, Nicole Sonia, also performed Beyonce's hit single 'If I Were a Boy' live on stage at the venue and wowed the crowds with her big voice at the tender age of 16.

Amongst the live artists were stunning works produced by Mohammed El Haddi, Farida Begum and Mary Ibeh which brought diversity to the show. Jewellery designer, Melissa Leon, showcased her fantastic new line named 'The Westnic Collection' and offered a mini jewellery workshop where you were able to create your own jewellery.

The night ended with soothing jazz music from authentic saxophonist Lydia Pearce, whose talent kept the invitees wanting more.

Presenter Richard Andersone from Liberty Radio, who hosted the event, gave his thumbs up and confirmed that 'it was the art exhibition of the year!'.
